1. What is the difference between Alien markers and other pneumatic markers?
Better accuracy plus reduced size and weight: The Sweep Trajectory gives a more consistent shot and a tighter pattern. The Independent Ram gives a smaller, lighter, tighter design. See our "Company" page.

  2. How fast is it?
Fast! They will shoot faster than hoppers can load, so they'll appear to your eye to be the speed of your hopper.

  3. How much do they weigh?
Remains weigh less than two pounds. That's with a Barrel and Regulator! Your weight will be with the bottle adapter, hopper and paint. Interceptor is a bit more.

  4. What barrel threads do they use?
    Cocker

  5. Do Aliens come with different firing modes?
With the advent of PSP and the 15 balls ramping modes, our Wicked Air Sportz boards have PSP and X-Ball ramping as standard. Players can also modify the ramping to their tastes. See www.wickedairsportz.com for full information.

  6. How does the trigger adjust?
Travel both ways and spring tension is adjustable. Simply take the bolt out and look down to see the trigger plate. Reach down through the plate with an allen wrench and adjust the trigger while he gun is together. This real time adjustment is unique to the Alien.

  7. What is the LPR operating pressure?
Remains is about 75 lbs. Interceptor is closer to 95. They will operate lower, but why? Set the LPR high enough that it shoots consistently. Then forget about it.

  8. What is the firing pressure?
Remains shoot at about 235 to go 300 fps, Interceptor about 275.

  9. How air efficient is it?
Remains will give you at least 1,500 from a full 45/68, Interceptor a bit less.

  10. What do I get for my extra money on the Remains?
Both the Remains and the Interceptor are world-class tournament level markers and the bolts and valves are interchangeable. As mentioned above, Remains shoot at both lower Inline and LPR pressures plus the Remains also have a bit better efficiency. A Remains has an integrated LPR and no front block. While the Interceptor is already a light gun, Remains' integrated LPR, lack of a front block and the more extensive milling make Remains notably lighter.

  11. Which is the better value?
Whether you are investing $595 or $895 we feel the best value in paintball is an Alien! We give you the most for your money that we can, whichever one you buy.

  12. What's the best way to set the pressure in an Alien?
Turn the LPR up a little too high about 85 on Remains, and 105 on Interceptor then set the high pressure regulator so that the marker is shooting 5 to 10 fps higher than the field allows, then turn the LPR down until the speed drops and then turn it back up until it is again shooting full speed. Now make all adjustments with the inline regulator. Trying to adjust by using the LPR can cause inconsistent shots. It is better to have the LPR a little higher than just a bit too low. Set and forget on the LPR. Use the inline reg.

  13. How much “kick” does it have?
It is similar to other top performing tournament markers shooting from an open bolt.

  14. How hard are they to trouble shoot or tech?
We feel they are the easiest to both trouble shoot and tech. You can have the three main pieces (Body, Ram Assembly and Trigger Frame) laid out in front of you with the air on, then you can immediately see where any leak is coming from. You can power it up and operate the ram to see that everything is operating correctly, but be careful as it will jump around and maybe even break the wires. Don't say we didn't warn you.

  15. Electro-pneumatic or electric sear trippers; pin valve or spool valve?
Both Alien Markers are electro-pneumatic and use pin valves.

  16. Will they shoot any color paint?
    Yes, even black.

  17. Are you selling via company-direct web sales or through authorized dealers?
Both. Getting a dealer network in place takes time, and we're working on it. If you want to get your Alien from a local store just have them contact us. We will set them up quickly. Otherwise, order online yourself. We use Paypal for now, but will be switching to the full web shopping features you've gotten used to at other online retailers.

  18. Do you sponsor teams?
We are very pleased so many teams feel they would like to be associated with Alien. To be sponsored, you first need a store's sponsorship. Then email us. Sponsorships are most often in the form of reduced prices for teams. We are a small company; we sell for very reasonable prices and therefore we cannot pay for team entry fees, travel and the like at this time. As more people become aware of our product (and buy it), we may change how we do this.

  19. Who started Alien and how long have they been around?
The founder's name is Jack Rice. Jack originated the Sweep Trajectory and the Independent Ram. His Machinist is Duane Parsons. Duane has twenty years experience machining and has several well know after market accessories. Special thanks goes to Rich Telford, Captain of XSV, for his insight and suggestions (and no - John Rice, of Angel, is from England; Jack Rice is from Sacramento, CA). The first Prototype Aliens were shooting in 2000. The '06 Interceptor and Remains are the third generation of the Sweep Trajectory and Independent Ram.

  20. What happened to the original pivioting door Alien?
The success of Interceptor has delayed it. We'll let you know as things progress.
